Clubhouses at PHSSA

Chess

The students will learn to compete under the regulations of the Virginia Chess Federation. A collaboration with SCBC has been created to teach students the components of chess including critical thinking and strategy. The domains of gifted under this clubhouse are intellectual and leadership.

Crochet

The students will learn to complete projects and promote community outreach. Using their new skills, students will create items that assist other clubhouses and forge a philanthropic relationship with the community. The domains of gifted under this clubhouse are creative and artistic.

Lego

The students will connect with those in the field and learn to qualify for competitions. In collaboration with local sponsors, students will have the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and create. The domains of gifted under this clubhouse are intellectual and leadership.

Visual and Graphic Arts

The students will connect with those in the field and create for the purpose of learning and assisting other clubhouses. The collaboration with other clubhouses will lead to the submission for the Doodle for Google competition. The domains of gifted under this clubhouse are creative and artistic.

Students of Environmental Action (SEA)

The students will learn about promoting environmental awareness and encouraging environmentally responsible behavior. The domains of gifted under this clubhouse are leadership and intellectual.
